The Watchtower Box
When a person becomes a Jehovah’s Witness, the Watchtower strives to keep that person in a box and that box is the Watchtower organization. The organization becomes everything to a Watchtower believer. Salvation itself (the thing that all people need) is only in the Watchtower organization: “Come to Jehovah’s organization for salvation…” (Watchtower; 1981, 11/15, p. 21, par. 18) is the invitation they offer. Once a person realizes that the organization is not what it claims to be (God’s only channel of truth), he escapes from the box, but has no idea where to turn next. The anxiety and fears that a leaving Jehovah’s Witness has can be once and for all conquered by accepting the true invitation that Jesus Christ offered to all people: Matt 11:28-29 “Come unto me, all ye that labour and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest. 29 Take my yoke upon you, and learn of me; for I am meek and lowly in heart: and ye shall find rest unto your souls.” Knowing that salvation (deliverance from eternal death and possession of eternal life) is not in any organization or religion, but rather in a person, Jesus Christ, the Eternal Son of God, will lead you to safety and free you from all your fears.
Escaping from the Watchtower box does not make a person safe from God’s wrath, but being in Jesus Christ will:
John 3:36 He that believeth on the Son hath everlasting life: and he that believeth not the Son shall not see life; but the wrath of God abideth on him.
John 1:10-13 He [Jesus Christ] was in the world, and the world was made by him, and the world knew him not. 11 He came unto his own, and his own received him not. 12 But as many as received him, to them gave he power to become the sons of God, even to them that believe on his name: 13 Which were born, not of blood, nor of the will of the flesh, nor of the will of man, but of God.
If you believe that Jesus Christ is the Son of God and God the Son, the Creator of all things, and that He was bodily resurrected from the grave (John 2:19-21), you are invited to receive Him by asking Him to be your personal Lord and Saviour today. Becoming a child of God results in a new birth (being born-again), and being born-again is the only way one can enter into the kingdom of God (John 3:3). As a child of God, one is then safe from the wrath of God and free from condemnation.
John 5:24 Verily, verily, I say unto you, He that heareth my word, and believeth on him that sent me, hath everlasting life, and shall not come into condemnation; but is passed from death unto life.
Out of the Watchtower box into the family of God is where the Lord wants you to be. Please accept His invitation right now and receive Jesus Christ as your Lord and Saviour and you will experience the joy of truly praying and saying, “My Father in heaven, thank You for sending Your Son to die in my place and shedding His precious blood for the forgiveness of my sins. I ask Jesus now to be my Lord and Saviour.” What a blessing to truly be able to call God your Father and to call Jesus Christ your Lord and Saviour. Now all that you need as a child of God is in Jesus Christ and His Word. Seeking to obey and serve the King of Kings will be the greatest pursuit of your life and also the greatest reward. What a day it will be when you see Him face to face and hear Him say, “Welcome home my child, enter into the joy of the Lord.” What an awesome God and Saviour He is and how wonderful to know that you have been born into His family by faith. Gal 3:26 For ye are all the children of God by faith in Christ Jesus.
If you are/were in an organization or religion that worshiped a false Jesus (one who had a beginning and was not eternal), then you must understand that believing in a false Jesus (no matter how many time you called on him) would not have resulted in your salvation. One cannot believe in a false Jesus and have true salvation. Only believing in and calling on the true Jesus of the Bible, the Eternal Son of God, can result in one’s salvation.
Josh 24:14-15 Now therefore fear the LORD, and serve him in sincerity and in truth: and put away the gods which your fathers served on the other side of the flood, and in Egypt; and serve ye the LORD. 15 And if it seem evil unto you to serve the LORD, choose you this day whom ye will serve; whether the gods which your fathers served that were on the other side of the flood, or the gods of the Amorites, in whose land ye dwell: but as for me and my house, we will serve the LORD.
The Urgency of Salvation
“For he saith, I have heard thee in a time accepted, and in the day of salvation have I succoured thee: behold, now is the accepted time; behold, now is the day of salvation.” (2 Corinthians 6:2)
Perhaps the most deadly sin of the unbeliever is that of procrastination. Satisfied with his current life, he neglects his spiritual need. Even if he understands the gospel and realizes his need of salvation, he still puts off a decision.
But it is always dangerous to count too strongly on tomorrow. “Whereas ye know not what shall be on the morrow. For what is your life? It is even a vapour, that appeareth for a little time, and then vanisheth away” (James 4:14). The sin of procrastination may easily become the sin of negligence, then of indifference, and finally the unforgivable sin of irrevocable rejection and unbelief.
“My spirit shall not always strive with man” (Genesis 6:3). This warning was true in the antediluvian world and it is certainly as true today, when we have far more knowledge and evidence of God’s truth and His will than people did in the days of Noah.
“To day if ye will hear his voice, harden not your heart” (psalm 95:7-8). This warning of the psalmist was considered so important that the writer of Hebrews quoted it three times (Hebrews 3:7-8,15; 4:7). Such an emphasis suggests there is indeed great danger in resisting God’s call to salvation. There may be another opportunity, but it is presumptuous and dangerous to impose too long on God’s patient mercy.
Today is the day of salvation. The accepted time is now! “Of how much sorer punishment, suppose ye, shall he be thought worthy, who hath trodden under foot the Son of God, and hath counted the blood of the covenant, wherewith he was sanctified, an unholy thing, and hath done despite unto the Spirit of grace? … It is a fearful thing to fall into the hands of the living God” (Hebrews 10:29,31).
