Who Is Jehovah?

Watchtower Answer: Jehovah is God the Heavenly Father and Jesus is the Father’s first created being. After that, Jesus created everything else. Is this really what the Bible teaches in the complete contexts of Scripture? Please take a look!

Bible Answer:
Jehovah is the One who created everything ALONE and by HIMSELF. He created everything. So who is that? You will see both His Old Testament and New Testament references. Take a look at the truth.

Old Testament
Isaiah 44:24 NWT
This is what Jehovah [God] has said, your Repurchaser and the Former of you from the belly: “I, Jehovah, am doing everything, stretching out the heavens by myself, laying out the earth. Who was with me?”

Isaiah 45:18 NWT
For this is what Jehovah has said, the Creator of the heavens, He the [true] God, the Former of the earth and the Maker of it, He the One who firmly established it, who did not create it simply for nothing, who formed it even to be inhabited: “I am Jehovah, and there is no one else [who did this].”

New Testament
John 1:3 NWT
All things came into existence through him [the Word, Jesus Christ], and apart from him not even one thing came into existence. Now you have a choice, either you can believe the truth in verse three or you can believe the Watchtower.

Why is Jesus the Creator of all things? Because in John 1:1 He is the Word which became flesh (vs 14), and the Word is called God in this verse. It was the one true God who created all things, not all “other” things. If you check in the KIT, you will see that the word “other” is in not in the Greek text in the Colossian verses. That means that you can take other out of the text, because then it will agree with inspired Scripture, which is the Word of God. Other was simply a Watchtower insertion. Take a look in the KIT and see for yourself!

Colossian 1:16-17 NWT without other
16 because by means of him [Jesus Christ] all things were created in the heavens and upon the earth, the things visible and the things invisible, no matter whether they are thrones or lordships or governments or authorities. All things have been created through him and for him.
17 Also, he is before all things and by means of him all things were made to exist.

Now you can see the TRUTH that Yahweh/Jesus created all things as the Scriptures truly confirm.

Who Is Jehovah/Yahweh?
Jehovah is the One who would be pierced. This prophecy was given in Zech 12:10 and sighted as being fulfilled in John 19:34-37, when Jesus Christ was pierced by the Roman soldier at Calvary. Zech 12:10 is quoted in John 19:37 as being fulfilled. If you examine the foot notes in the large NWT with references, you will see at the bottom of page 1169 to me whom. The textual symbols, MVg are explained on pages 10-11 and show you that to me whom is the correct rendering in all major manuscripts. Why is the to me whom important? Because it shows the person who is speaking is Jehovah. This agrees with the King James Version (KJV) that is quoted here: Zech 12:10 And I [Jehovah is speaking] will pour upon the house of David, and upon the inhabitants of Jerusalem, the spirit of grace and of supplications: and they shall look upon me [Jehovah] whom they have pierced

Jehovah is sold for thirty pieces of silver:
Zechariah 11:12-13 NWT
12 Then I [Jehovah] said to them: If it is good in YOUR eyes, give [me] my wages; but if not, refrain. And they proceeded to pay my wages, thirty pieces of silver.
13 At that, Jehovah said to me: Throw it to the treasury the majestic value with which I have been valued from their standpoint. Accordingly I took the thirty pieces of silver and threw it into the treasury at the house of Jehovah.

Jehovah is also identified in Zech 14:3-5 as the One whose feet will stand on the Mount of Olives in that day[Armageddon] and the One who returns with all the Holy Ones with Him. Then verse 9 states that Jehovah must become King over all the earth. The New Testament scriptures link the fulfillment to all these prophecies to none-other than Jesus Christ, which proves that the true identity of Jehovah is Jesus Christ.

Jehovah is the One who visited Abraham in Gen 18:1: And the LORD [Jehovah] appeared unto him [Abraham] in the plains of Mamre: and he sat in the tent door in the heat of the day;

Jehovah is the Father (Creator) of the Nation of Israel, but this verse, in its context, is not saying that Jehovah is God the Father: Isa 63:16 Doubtless thou art our father, though Abraham be ignorant of us, and Israel acknowledge us not: thou, O LORD [Jehovah], art our father, our redeemer; thy name is from everlasting.

If you don’t know who Yahweh/Jesus is, all the rest doesn’t matter and you will be denied a place in His eternal kingdom.
